Introduction to Embroidery
Saturday March 2nd, 10-1pm, $55
Learn how to embellish your fabric with embroidery. By mastering a few key stitches you can create beautiful artwork with thread or yarn. Instructor Angela Schade will introduce students to 6 basic stitches - back stitch, chain stitch, stem stitch, lazy daisy stitch, French knots, satin stitch. You’ll also learn a number of 4 "low tech" transfer techniques - ways to transfer all of those lovely patterns from embroidery books onto fabric. You’ll learn when to use different techniques depending on fabric type/weight.
Embroidery is a relatively inexpensive and a portable craft that has the potential to make every piece of clothing you own a work of art.
