All-Natural Doll Making Workshop with Abenie de Weever.
2.5 days, Saturday June 1th, 10- 3pm, Saturday June 8th 10-3pm. Sunday June 9h 12-3pm, $175
Spend two and a half days creating a wonderful Waldorf-inspired doll.
This is an opportunity to practice many different sewing, stuffing, felting, and machine techniques. This class will be hands-on, productive, informative and enjoyable!
Depending on your skill or ambition level, you can follow the traditional Waldorf doll pattern or make a more complex doll with a needle-felted face. Both patterns create a wonderful, all-natural doll. You can choose the hair, skin tone, eye and lip colors. All the patterns shared are from course instructor Abenie de Weever, adapted from the traditional Waldorf doll patterns available elsewhere. Doll clothing patterns will be shared so students can sew outfits for your dolls at home.
Abenie will available before, during, and after the course to answer questions and discuss what you are making. We will be in contact beforehand, so you can decide which style of doll you would like to make and which colours you want to use, so the workshop time can be devoted to learning the craft and making the dolls.
Basic hand sewing and machine knowledge.
It's also wonderful (but not necessary) if you have basic crochet, knitting felting and other handy work skills.
Material kits are available from Abenie for $45, which include everything you need for making your doll, not including fabric for the outfits you will make at home. If you have doll-making materials already or would like to purchase some separately, Maplerose is offering a 10% discount to students taking this course.
