Punch Hooking with Sara Judith
2 DAY WORKSHOP: Sunday, September 23 1pm - 4pm and Sunday, October 21, 1pm - 4pm - SOLD OUT!
Wondering what to do with all your extra yarn? Try punch-hooking, a craft that is easy to learn. Punch hooking uses yarn and cloth strips, producing a rich surface of loops, similar to traditional rug hooking. Bring a bag of your leftover yarn to use, and an idea for a simple design. All the supplies and equipment you need will be available for purchase - punch-hooks, frames or no-slip hoops, monkscloth backing and yarns to get you going.
The first session will concentrate on getting your design onto the backing and mastering the essentials. You will then have time to practice between the two sessions.
The second session will explore different materials you can use as well as the wide variety of yarns available. We will cover how to finish a piece so that your chairpad or wall hanging could be complete after the two sessions.
