Nelson Stitch Lab is a public sewing studio and fabric supply store. You’ll find us in the heart of downtown Nelson at 505 Baker St.
Our retail space has quality fabrics, notions, patterns, books, and textile craft supplies. Whether you're a sewing expert, or just remotely curious , we have everything you need to be inspired and create.
We provide classes for adults and children, sewing machine rentals by the hour, and advice on starting or finishing your projects.
Sewing machines: We sell the latest models of Bernina sewing machines. Why Bernina?
Fabric: We sell quality quilting fabrics from Cotton & Steel, Robert Hoffman, Bentarex, Art Gallery Fabric and more. We also carry a fine selection of apparel fabrics including rayon, denim, waxed canvas, linen, cotton twill, wool, and hemp.
Patterns: We carry patterns by Closet Case, Merchant and Mills, Oliver & S, Colette, True Bias, 100 Acts of Sewing, papercut patterns, Tilly and the buttons, sew liberated and Sew House Seven
Textile Crafts: We have an ever-evolving selection of textile craft supplies, including, sashiko kits, indigo and fabric dyes, and block printing supplies.
WORKSHOPS & CLASSES
Nelson Stitch Lab will be offering sewing and textile craft workshops starting September 2018.
The After School Club runs on Tuesday and Thursdays.
PUBLIC SEWING STUDIo
Bring your project down to work on in our sewing lounge. We have the latest models of Bernina sewing machines and sergers, large cutting tables, tools and plenty of light and inspiration! You will need to provide your own thread or purchase some in the shop. We would be happy to offer our opinions and bits of help , but lessons are arranged outside of these hours. $15/hour or a 10 hour punch card for $120
